We’re on a role! Two new blogs about Eyes in the Dark and more on the way. The first is the horror movie blog Dread Central. It’s an eloquent little speculation about the origin of those mysterious red eyes on the poster. And the second blog, from Geek Tyrant, calls Eyes in the Dark “creepy” and “cool.” They even featured Eyes on their main page next to their Oscar blog — we like that!
Eyes in the Dark editor Robyn Scaringi, and her husband and fellow Eyes producer, Marco Scaringi, were interviewed by KUOW’s Amy Radil about Eyes in the Dark, and how the recession can give people more time to spend working on creative projects. Robyn and Marco both used to work in the mortgage industry, and the story draws some not-so-subtle connections between your typical horror movie and the horrors of the mortgage industry. The story includes audio clips from the movie. To listen to the story or read the transcript, go here.

Once again, Eyes in the Dark has gotten some media attention, this time from The Issaquah Press. This article features interviews from director Bjorn Anderson, editor Robyn Scaringi, and actress/marketing coordinator Maureen Francisco. The article is mostly about Bjorn’s process as a filmmaker, but it also has some info about how Eyes is doing in the post-production world. Read the entire article here.
Another nod from the blogosphere, the weird fiction & film blog Undead Backbrain has given Eyes in the Dark some special recognition. Writer Robert Hood seems enthusiastic about the film’s potential, and he makes good use of the newly updated press kit we’re starting to send out. The website itself has a very creepy feel to it, definitely worth checking out. To read the entire blog posting, go here.

The Mercer Island Reporter published an article about Eyes in the Dark for the November ‘09 RendezVous screening. The article has some interesting info about why our resident director/producer Bjorn Anderson decided to make movies in the first place. On behalf of the entire crew at Emerald City Pictures, the MI Reporter picture does not do Bjorn justice.
November 2009
In early November of 2009, Emerald City Pictures screened a nearly completed version of Eyes in the Dark at the RendezVous in downtown Seattle for many of the cast & crew and a handful of media professionals. The movie was well received by the audience. Among the audience members was Jeff Walls, a movie critic for the Seattle PI Blog. He gave the film a great review saying that he “enjoyed the film” and it “was edited together really well.” To read the entire article, go here.
